PARADISE PLANTS TIME LINE
1978 – Lesley Hill starts Paradise Plants at age 26. It begins as a small greenhouse in the parking lot of Davie’s Home Improvement Center in Keaukaha.
1981 – The business expands to an old tire warehouse on Kilauea Avenue (next to the present day Starbucks). Due to the upcoming demolition of this building, the store sought out a new location.
1988 – Paradise Plants relocates to the former Orchids of Hawaii building on Hinano Street in the Waiakea Houselots. (Now home to Big Island Candies).
1997 – Final move to its present location at 40 Wiwoole street. Begins to sell Balinese imports.
2011 – Paradise Plants expands to the warehouse next door, at 34 Wiwoole as a furniture showroom and storage space.
2017 – Lesley’s daughter’s, Maikalani and Loke inherit business and register it as an LLC.
